Shiseido campaign: Minimalist backlighting and asymmetric composition
Beautiful campaign work from Shiseido (@shiseido) shot by Koichiro Doi (@koichirodoi), right on brand. The composition of the main image is minimalistic and asymmetric, which again fits Shiseido perfectly. It's fun to see simple backlit photos popping up more and more. I use this technique a lot for beauty product work too.

Most likely they used an octabox or diffusion on the right side to light the scene, plus fill light and a background light.
