Louis Vuitton, Salt & Stone, MÁDARA, NeoStrata, and OLEHENRIKSEN: Five beauty campaigns dissected for lighting, staging, and technical execution.

A week of standout beauty campaigns. Louis Vuitton's theatrical warmth, Salt & Stone's smart deconstruction work, plus a few technical missteps worth noting.

Louis Vuitton Ambre Levant: Warm drama with refined mixed lighting

I've been obsessing over Louis Vuitton (@louisvuitton)'s Ambre Levant campaign shot by Cass Bird (@cassblackbird). The warmth and drama around the subject create this deep desire for the perfume that's hard to look away from. What really gets me is how they've balanced mixed lighting to keep everything soft despite the theatrical setup. These images walk that perfect line between high creative concept and commercial precision. Nothing gets overlooked, every detail is dialed in, but it never feels stiff or overproduced.

Salt & Stone body wash: Deconstructed bubbles and shelfie styling

Salt & Stone (@saltandstone) is one of my favorite brands because of their strong branding and positioning, shot by David Kitz (@davidkitz). In this particular shot they're using a trend that started in 2025 and keeps going strong: showing products in use through deconstruction. It works really well with the body wash. The bubbles look so good. If I had to guess, I think they made them separately by opening the bottle and creating bubbles inside, rather than just shaking the bottle. Overall a great bathroom shelfie scene.

MÁDARA Organic Skincare: Motion blur meets Nordic minimalism

Even though I love MÁDARA Organic Skincare (@madaracosmetics)' creative direction and their visuals are always conceptual, clean, and organic, I feel like this shot is a bit weaker technically and conceptually. I don't understand the idea of motion blur (long exposure) for a Radiance serum. The technical execution is also off since you can't clearly see and understand the material and color of the product.

NeoStrata Canada: Clean clinical staging for social media skincare

A great fast social media shot from NEOSTRATA Canada (@neostratacanada) by Maxime Poiblanc (@maximepoiblanc). The composition keeps it engaging and interesting to look at. The clean staging works well for NeoStrata's clinical approach, letting the product and its scientific positioning do the talking without overthinking the setup.

OLEHENRIKSEN Peach Glaze: Soft light meets foam texture challenges

New products alert from OLEHENRIKSEN (@olehenriksen)! I love the bottles and the colors, but not a big fan of the photos. First, the foam on the cleanser looks very overpowering in one of the main images and reads more like dish soap foam. I feel something more gentle would work better, given that soft light and Peach Glaze name. I'd understand it if this was a body wash. Also, I feel like the fact that it's brightening should introduce more direct hard light. Right now it's more "soothing" than "brightening." Not sure if it's a campaign shoot, but the cleanser photography could use more polish.
